The Cannabis scene is expanding in Germantown— the Northwest Learning Hub hosts their second Cannabis Night Market.

The  market takes place tomorrow, Jan. 8, from 5 to 9 p.m on the 5800 block of Germantown Avenue. There will be local cannabis vendors. Northwest Learning Hub Manager Keith Walker said the hub hopes to destigmatize cannabis by an event like the night market.

Walker said the idea is to show new ways to think about cannabis and educate people on the different uses,”Just to get educated about CBD, and try to just break that stigma about cannabis that has existed for so long,”

Tomorrow’s market is the second event the learning hub has held to change peoples view about cannabis. Last year, Cannabis Noire held classes to help people enter the cannabis industry and hopefully reap financial gain.

Additionally, the learning hub is a venue for creators and teachers to rent for pop-up shops and seasonal events. They had to cancel indoor teaching engagements after the COVID-19 pandemic surge caused Philadelphia to release new social distancing guidelines last November.
