Residents of Germantown and Northwest Philadelphia will have an opportunity to get tested for COVID-19 this Saturday.
The Black Doctors Covid 19 Consortium will offer testing at the Germantown Christian Assembly on Mount Pleasant Avenue from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The consortium, which has emphasized testing residents within the city’s Black neighborhoods since April, recently won an award from the city for about $1 million.
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the Germantown area hard to date, just under 1700 people have tested positive for the virus collectively across the 19144, 19119 and 19138 zip codes, according to the most recent Philadelphia Department of Public Health statistics.
